Our services begin with a clinical assessment and a discussion of your priorities. The list below describes areas of practice, not an automatic recommendation for a test or a guarantee of suitability. Reception and the treating clinician will confirm arrangements for each procedure.

Consultations and ongoing care

Internal medicine: assessment of general symptoms, diabetes, blood pressure, anaemia and medicine-related concerns.
Gastroenterology: reflux, indigestion, swallowing problems, bowel symptoms and inflammatory bowel disease.
Hepatology: abnormal liver tests, metabolic fatty liver disease, viral hepatitis, cirrhosis and portal hypertension.
Second opinion: review of existing investigations and treatment plans. Bring the original reports and imaging where possible.

Endoscopy and selected therapeutic procedures

Gastroscopy: examination of the oesophagus, stomach and duodenum, with biopsies or selected treatment when indicated.
Colonoscopy: examination of the large bowel, with biopsy or polyp removal when suitable.
ERCP: assessment for treatment of selected bile duct obstruction, stones or leaks.
Other interventions: selected treatment of gastrointestinal bleeding, varices or narrowing, according to the clinical indication and available facilities.

Preparation and follow-up are part of the service

Before a procedure, the team reviews relevant illnesses, allergies and medicines and provides preparation instructions. Afterwards, make sure you understand the findings, the plan for biopsy results and whether any stent or other treatment requires another appointment. Never stop prescribed medicines simply because you are considering an endoscopy.

Patient education and nutrition

Our patient guides explain common investigations and conditions. Clinical nutrition information supports a discussion about food, weight, muscle health and symptoms; it does not replace a personalised dietary assessment or imply a separate dietitian service.
